In acoustic awe of In-Akustik audio

Today’s delightful musical recordings discovery is three-fold.

I stumbled on In-Akustik’s themed compilation album Great Men of Song.

Firstly, the singers and the songs selected on this album are excellent, and I found some new names to delve into further. This is one of a series of Reference Sound Edition compilations worth checking out. The carrier is HQCD (HiQualityCD) using a polycarbonate plastic with improved light transmission and a special alloy for the reflective layer to achieve an especially high audio quality.

Secondly, I investigated the RESO-Mastering which was new to me. It’s a dynamic resonance suppressor studio plugin developed by Mastering the Mix, a company known for creating innovative mixing and mastering tools. It helps to identify and resolve resonances in audio tracks, using advanced algorithms to analyze the audio signal and identify resonant frequencies that can cause harshness, unpleasantness, and loss of clarity, masking other elements that should be heard. It then provides a visual representation of the resonant frequencies, allowing engineers to target and reduce them effectively. RESO-Mastering can clean up resonances without affecting transients and phase and without over-processing or introducing distortion, maintaining the character of the audio while removing unwanted resonances, improving mix clarity, resulting in a clearer and more balanced mix. The high definition (REference SOund) mastering procedure provides significant acoustic improvements in transparency, dynamics, bass reproduction, and depth differentiation, with the musical presentation gaining atmosphere and emotion.

Inakustik’s company motto is “We turn music into pure pleasure, since 1977”.

I heard that so obviously in the sound from rendering these recordings. Very ‘present’ and rich presentation.

Thirdly, I scanned through the online catalogue and found more than a couple of dozen artists whose music I haven’t heard. I note that their albums can be streamed from Amazon Music.
