I have never seen this mentioned anywhere before! It was also used by David Bowie, Robert Fripp, Queen, and others.

It seems that Fish had this product in his Funny Farm studio back then. And, indeed, the album does sound very open and lively.

Coincidentally, I’m presently experimenting with Ambiophonics as a solution to this same challenge – to create an audio image that is superior to stereo.
