Ted Hawkins was a well-known and much appreciated busker on Venice Beach, California, in the early 1980s.
He was variously ‘discovered’ four times, and many of his songs recorded. This is one of a pair of albums.
In 1986 he traveled to the UK for a short tour, and ended up living in coastal East Yorkshire (I’m from nearby Beverley, although I was living in Lancashire since 1980).
He was sent back to the USA when his over-stay was uncovered.
He died suddenly on New Year’s Day 1995.
