A return to euphonic sound

Dynamic range and loudness are perhaps the most significant determinants of sound quality. It seems that the software we choose to play may offer the most potential for improving our listening experience.

Just as food products, cigarettes and alcoholic drinks carry health and nutrition information labels, and movies are rated, I want recorded music to carry a DR rating.

After reading this piece, I’m wondering if Moby is on the wagon. The bandwagon, that is. He’s saying something that is appealing to audiophiles, yet not doing what he advocates.
