Days of future passed

Today I pulled out my CD copy of the digitally remastered album “Days of Future Passed” by The Moody Blues. And I got to thinking …. This album was probably the very first ‘concept’ album, and was recorded by Decca Records with the London Festival Orchestra as a budget-priced demonstration album to showcase their then new Deramic Sound System studio recording technology. It spawned the eternal hit “Nights in White Satin”.

It turned the band from ailing R&B to new age proggers, and set the standard for studio production.

Now in digital format, almost 50 years later, it still gives the musicality of my system a good test.

Days of past returned, it seems.
